Hello and welcome to dowritewoman.com. My name is Christine Forsyth and I'm a Toronto-based writer. Once upon a time I was a copywriter. Toiling by day to breathe new life into package copy, I secretly yearned to write something that didn't begin with the words "new" and "improved". A humourist by nature, I indulged my whims by writing satirical sailing columns for the newsletter of the Canadian Shark Class Association.

I amused friends and a couple of relatives with Laughing Matter, a collection of stories about life in a highly regulated suburb. Soon I graduated to lengthier works and found myself channelling the voice of a thirteen year-old hockey enthusiast with the publication of Face Off, a sports-themed youth novel. Hockey Heatwave, Katie's Midnight Ride and Power Hitter followed. A new title is due to for publication this fall.

On this site you will find several Laughing Matter stories, synopses of the youth novels and a few samples of some of my other work.

Use the menu at the left to select either the stories or the books. Enjoy.

"It's an odd job, making decent people laugh."
Moliere (1622-1673)

"Don't make me laugh."
Loretta Forsyth(1921-1989)
